15 ml Polycarbonate Vials with Silicone Lined Caps are intended for researchers homogenizing larger, resilient samples for analysis and/or DNA/RNA isolation. The vials were originally designed to dry grind lyophilized corn kernels for field trials; however, they have since been applied to homogenizing a wider variety of plant and animal tissues. The vials are highly durable and can be submersed into liquid nitrogen and immediately used for homogenizing. They have been used on freeze-dried grape samples for DNA extraction to evaluate different muscadine grape genotypes for their vinification qualities and antioxidant properties. The 15 ml Polycarbonate Vials with Silicone Lined Caps are also used for grinding frozen leaf, and stem root samples of Cannabis to investigate how varieties differ in their sink strength, nutrient allocation, cannabinoid yield, and associated gene expression profiles.
Each case includes 100 Polycarbonate Vials with our Silicone Lined Caps, which may be used for both cryogenic and ambient processing and with liquid samples where potential leakage may be a concern.
