Gradient Master™

The gradient forming process developed with the Gradient Master involves layering the two end point solutions (i.e. 5% and 30% sucrose) directly in the centrifuge tube, capping it and placing it in a tube holder magnetically attached to a tilting plate on the instrument. The instrument tilts the tube to a precise angle, rotates it for a designated time and returns it to its original vertical position.

Now in its 4th generation since 1985, the current model 108 is programmed to form hundreds of different gradients at the touch of a button.

The new digital keypad facilitates entry of new gradients, whether developed by the user or by BioComp. SD card downloads sent by email permit the upgrading of both the main software and the gradient list, so users can keep abreast of our ever-expanding set of run parameters. Whether your gradients use sucrose, glycerol, Optiprep®, Nycodenz®, Ficoll®, Percoll®, Metrizamide, Renografin®, NaCl, CsCl, NaAc or KCl, the Gradient Master has never met a solute it didn’t like.
