We offer a range of synthesizers, columns, solid support and amidites as well as purification and filtration instruments for the synthesis of oligonucleotides in research, process development, production scale.

Synthetic oligonucleotides (or oligos) are used as primers for sequencing, PCR and cloning, probes for arrays, etc. as well as in therapeutical therapies such as antisense, siRNA, Aptamers amongst others. They are also used in combination in vaccine treatment and cell therapy. The oligonucleotide is then used to modify the expression of key genes in a disease pathway. 

The therapeutical use of oligos demands large-scale synthesis of extremely high-quality. The synthesis must be efficient and accurate to avoid an exponential increase in errors in the molecular population after 20, and especially over 100 incorporations of nucleosides. Once synthesized, the product must be cleaned up chromatographically to remove incomplete molecules and other side products of the process. Usually applying RPC or IEx technologies. A filtration step might be needed to de-salt or retrieve a higher concentration. The oligo is then checked for purity, normally by a combination of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
