Workshop and Conference description
Workshop on DNA typing of bone samples will focus in details on all areas of DNA typing of bone samples, inc. specimen documentation, laboratory set-up, sample cleaning and preparation, removal of inhibitors, extraction techniques, mini-STR systems, Next Generation Sequencing, evaluation of results and DNA extraction hints for ancient material.

The number of participants is limited, therefore it is highly recommended to register as soon as possible.

The registration fee covers the 2-day intensive workshop, workshop materials, coffee-break refreshments, lunch, banquet at the first day evening and a guided visit of the famous Church of the Virgin Mary and St. Charles the Great within the Police Museum premises.
 
The workshop agenda will include Evaluation of  the 2nd Collaborative Exercise on DNA Identification of Bone Samples.

We will distribute samples for the 3rd Collaborative excercise on DNA identification of bone samples.

Evaluation of  the 2nd Collaborative exercise on DNA identification of bone samples during the workshop.

Participants of the  4th BONE WORKSHOP and CONFERENCE 2019 can participate in a
 
3nd Collaborative Exercise on DNA based identification of Bone samples. The aim of the exercise is to make  progress on standardization and to identify the technical problems  connected with identification of bone samples and difficult DNA templates. The results of the collaborative exercise will be published. Certificates of successful completion will be issued to all participants..

We will distribute only 1 sample set per participating laboratory. The number of sample sets is limited and will be distributed on the bases first-come-first-serve.

The history of science in Prague goes back into the Middle Ages. In 1348, the oldest university in Central Europe, Charles University was founded in Prague. In the 20th century, Prague is connected with the name of Albert Einstein who spent several years of his creative life there and with the name of the Nobel Prize winner, Jaroslav Heyrovsky, the founder of polarography. 

The 4th Bone Workshop and Conference will be held in the very center of Prague in premises of the Police Museum. A guided visit in the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. Charles the Great which is located within the premises of the Police Museum will be arranged for the participants. The church is one of the Prague architectural masterpieces. It was founded by the emperor Charles IV and represents the east head of the imaginary cross formed by five churches from the Charles IV age (wikipedia)

The workshop & conference venue is located in a 10 minutes walking distance from the venue of the 28th ISFG meeting.

Abstract submission
Abstract submission is due on July 31, 2019 through the conference website. Each conference participant can offer one abstract to be considered for either oral or poster presentation. There will be no parallel sessions. Please note that the number of oral presentation slots will be limited.
